Who it's for

  • Ongoing back, knee, hip, or shoulder aches that keep you from exercising
  • You've finished physical therapy or been cleared by your doctor and want to keep building strength
  • You have a past injury, surgery, or spine condition, and regular gyms feel risky
  • You want to lift, travel, and play without worrying about your back

How we train it

1. Assess

We ask about your history and what your doctor or physical therapist has told you, test how you move, and start slow and safe.

2. Strengthen

Careful core, hip, and posture work builds a strong foundation, progressed at your pace. No "no pain, no gain."

3. Coordinate

If you're working with a physical therapist, doctor, or chiropractor, we coordinate with them and adjust your plan as you progress.

Your coaches

We're trainers, not clinicians: we don't diagnose or treat pain, and we're glad to work with the professionals who do. Meet the full team.

What clients say

I have been working with Carl for several years for chronic back and knee pain. He has done wonders for my mobility and I no longer deal with chronic pain.
John B., Google
He took my skinny body, with no core or muscles, and helped me gain mobility, strength, and function - all with a 40 degree curve from scoliosis in my lower back. We started really slow and safe …
Joanie C., Yelp
I have 8 fused vertebrae & a complicated foot & Jason can easily navigate through any issues that might come up. He listens & always has a work around and/or solution.

Back & Joint Pain questions

Is this physical therapy or pain treatment?

No. We're personal trainers, so we don't diagnose or treat pain. We help you build strength and move better, and if you're seeing a physical therapist, doctor, or chiropractor, we work alongside them.

Should I see a doctor first?

If your pain is new, severe, or getting worse, see your doctor first. At your consultation we'll ask about your history and anything your doctor or physical therapist has recommended.

Is private Pilates part of this?

It can be. Many clients add private Pilates with Sue for core strength and control alongside their training sessions.

How do I get started?

Book a free consultation. We'll talk about your history and goals and recommend a plan that starts at the right level for you.
