My 16 yo son has been going to CCF for almost a year working with Carl who has been attentive and gone above and beyond to not only help with strength training and getting golf ready. Carl is more than just a trainer for our son, he's also like a mental coach getting him into a positive mindset when he does his warmups. Can't say enough about this place, it's individualized and friendly. We can see other folks working with the other trainers and everyone's happy, chatting it up as they go through their routine. It's not a one size fits all assembly line they will work with your needs.
Hands down the best trainer I've ever worked with.
Jason is technically strong and builds workouts specifically tailored to personal goals (it has done wonders for my golf game).
His ability to dial in progressions so you're constantly challenged without overdoing it is really good. My core strength has reached a whole new level. On top of that, he's just a great guy who truly meets you where you are in life. 10 out of 10.
My wife and I have been training with Creed for a few years now. When we started, we were total beginners and knew nothing about fitness. Creed is incredibly patient and always takes the time to educate us on a deep level. His knowledge of health and fitness is extensive and he has taught us so much about our own bodies. We honestly couldn’t have achieved this level of effective training without him. We are extremely grateful that we met a trainer who truly cares about his clients and we cannot recommend Creed enough!
"I train with Jason and do Pilates with Su at Calibrated. We have worked together for some time at this point. I originally came to Jason for training to extend my years playing golf. His approach was different than my past trainers. Focuses on small details of movement and performance that others seem to overlook. This approach set me
Up for long term success and was well worth the work! I began working with Su for pilates more recently. Its been a great complement to my strength training and really helps fill in the gaps on flexibility and core strength. Maybe most importantly, they keep it FUN! I would highly recommend both of them and the team at Calibrated! Id say if you have tried other programs and havent seen much change, check out Calibrated Custom Fitness. They have a fantastic program that makes sure to keep you progressing and enjoying yourself!"
Calibrated Fitness in Los Altos is truly exceptional, and trainer Creed Black is the reason. My husband has worked with Creed for over 10 years, and the impact on his health, fitness, and overall strength has been tremendous.
What really sets Creed apart is how thoughtfully he tailors his programs. My husband's training is always designed around his real life--frequent travel, a demanding work schedule, and evolving diet and health needs. Creed consistently adjusts workouts to be effective, sustainable, and realistic, which has made it possible for my husband to stay strong and healthy year after year.
Creed is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in long-term results, not quick fixes. If you're looking for a trainer who understands how to build strength and health while balancing a busy life, I can't recommend Creed Black and Calibrated Fitness highly enough.
Jason at Calibrated has played such an important role in my health journey. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes a year ago at 24 years old (8.4 A1C) and consulted with Jason, who worked with me to develop a personalized fitness plan that catered specifically to lowering my blood sugar. He also guided me in navigating my first ever use of a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) and gave me tools to identify which foods were causing drastic spikes and lows in my numbers and how to layer certain foods to maintain stability. He helped me feel at ease and gave me confidence that I could overcome this significant health struggle. Jason is incredibly kind, caring, and understanding that "health" should not be a one-size-fits-all approach. He listens to his clients and removes the stigma that is found in many fitness spaces by not subscribing to a restrictive view of health and wellness. Thanks to the tools provided to me at Calibrated Custom Fitness, my A1C is down to 5.6 and I am now in diabetic remission! Thank you Jason for all of your guidance and care!
It is a pleasure to post the highest praise for Jason & Calibrated Custom Fitness. After a very long time away from working out to enjoy & help my aging parents, I realized I really needed to get serious about getting back in shape. I truly thought I had waited too long & it wouldn't be possible to regain the strength I'd lost. I had trained with Jason before but had lost touch due to life's events. When I flipped the switch to find a trainer, Jason & his colleagues Karl & Creed immediately popped up in my search. Seeing Jason again & their fantastic gym was like coming home! We jumped into twice a week sessions to make up for my lost time. Long story short after 3 months I feel stronger & better than I have in years. I have 8 fused vertebrae & a complicated foot & Jason can easily navigate through any issues that might come up. He listens & always has a work around and/or solution. A million thank you's to Jason for helping me feel like my old self again. I am very, very grateful!
I’m so grateful to have found Coach Ruth. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and tailors each session to my weaker areas, my goals, and the types of exercise I enjoy. Working with her has helped me build a solid fitness foundation and has been instrumental to injury prevention and treatment. Most of all, I’m always excited for our weekly sessions because she uniquely creates a positive, safe, and fun environment for me to improve. Our work together has become a cornerstone of my health journey, and I look forward to continuing it with her!
"Coach Ruth" urged me in August, 2022, to begin working out with her for 1-hour weekly at a scheduled time. To date, May, 2025, my regime
has rejuvenated my body and its myriad parts and mysteries--movement, strength, flexibility, alignment, diet, optimism. Ruth Schreiner is a born trainer. She has a quick insight into how to fix what is wrong. She magically during our
workouts is inspiring my spirit and soul and intellect to be my best self.
Training with Carl at Calibrated Custom Fitness has been very informative for me. He's helped me build real strength through foundational breathing and core work, along with precise coaching on Turkish get-ups and deadlifts.
Carl's attention to form, smart programming, and genuine care made every session effective and motivating.
The studio is clean, private, and focused. I highly recommend Carl to anyone looking to move better, get stronger, and train with purpose.
This is a 100% thumbs up review of Creed as a Personal Trainer. Our disabled adult daughter has been working out with him twice a week since the depths of the Pandemic - so for over 4 years. She was unable to go out or participate in any regular activities, and finding Creed to do outdoor workouts with her was a godsend. She has trouble following normal athletic or training instruction, and Creed has worked with her, being incredibly patient, so that she can now do a full workout routine properly. She is learning new skills and is now enthusiastic about exercising and looks forward to her time with Creed. We look forward to working with him for a long time.
I learned so much in such a short amount of time. I've worked with a number of personal trainers over the years and the guys at Calibrated are far superior to any I've worked with before. Their analysis, attention to detail, and understanding of body mechanics are awesome!
During my pregnancy with my first child, Jason helped me with fix some discomfort I had with certain exercises I was doing. Being that it was my first pregnancy, I was a bit nervous to try something new, but Jason was very patient with me. I really appreciated how he explained everything we were doing and it was helpful. Jason made my experience comfortable, fun and I always looked forward to our sessions. He has such great energy and it really shows how much he enjoys helping people. Thank you Jason!
I have a lot of confidence that I will get a great workout tailored to my needs at CCF. It's a great place to get personal training help. They really do put the personal in training. I'm always asked how I'm doing. How have some exercises worked out for me. They are great listeners and try to sculpt a program around my interests. I'm working on strength and stability currently and I've been very happy with the progress I've made. Also, they are very good at helping me do some work even if I have a short term physical limitation. There is plenty of useful equipment available. Because of their lifelong interest in weight lifting, training, exercise, and nutrition, they have really good advice and I've learned a lot.
I've been working with Jason for a decade now. He knows how to intelligently program everything under the sun, from powerlifting to bodybuilding to prehab to back bulletproofing to sports-specific training, no matter your age. Can't recommend him and the rest of the team there enough
I started working with Carl in November 2023, so now I've been with him for a year! I played Division 1 golf and had a season of professional status, but never in my career have I ever cared to actually learn the fundamentals of my body nor the proper techniques to take care of it. In hindsight, it's because I've never actually met a trainer who made me care through understanding the importance/why. Working with Carl for just a short few weeks broke a bad habit of mine that I've had for over a decade -- I now won't even golf without stretching and warming up for 20 minutes before! I used to not even warm up for more than 5 minutes and just lived with being tight, which I then thought and acknowledged as normal.
Despite trading in 6-7 hours of golf a day to 6-7 hours sitting in front of a desk, my body is still relatively loose. Carl taught me the importance of "simple" things like using my core or the chain effects of all my body parts, things I could not care less about in the past haha. My body's feeling great, my golf games feeling better (while spending less time), and I think this is a large part of that! I've referred multiple friends to Carl now and I enjoy teaching my findings to friends and family. Carl supports me to train outside as well, since he empowers me with good fundamentals and even a good weekly training plan to do on my own.
When I first met Jason, I was 12 years old with the goal of playing soccer at the collegiate and professional level. At that point, he had been working with my brother for a couple of years. I watched as he transformed my brother from a novice football player into a starter on his varsity high school team, and a desired recruit by many college football programs. I was unsure what to expect from our time together, and, at that age, I lacked strength training knowledge and direction. Working with Jason ultimately proved to be one of the best decisions for my athletic career.
I could speak endlessly about the ways in which Jason made me a quicker, stronger, more explosive and fitter athlete. I could also speak at great length about how fundamental Jason was for building my confidence, which proved to be invaluable as I continued playing at elite levels. However, the part of my time with Jason that sticks with me the most is how he managed my repetitive injuries.
When I first started working with Jason, I had already acquired what was the start of a chronic back injury. Other strength coaches pushed me to lift increasingly heavy weights and build bulk strength to protect my back. Jason took the time to diagnose my dysfunctional movement patterns and broke the sometimes-overwhelming problems I was having into many manageable components. We spent much of our first few years together retraining small stabilizing muscles, prioritizing a base level of core control and integrating sport-specific movements into the new functional adjustments he had made for me.
As we continued to work together, I felt comfortable putting an incredible amount of trust in Jason. I would regularly show up to training sessions, and unbeknownst to me, Jason had already met with my physical therapist and spent time adjusting our workout plan to suit any new areas of concern that she had identified. Additionally, Jason had a curiosity and thirst for knowledge that directly improved our training regimens. He used both his time with clients and his time outside of work to expand his own understanding of kinesiology. He regularly attended advanced education workshops, read the latest physiology and kinesiology literature, and surrounded himself with specialists in different fields of physical health. Jason was intentional about what he did and did not integrate into the protocols for his athletes. He took the time to explain why he believed certain adjustments were valuable for his athletes, or why what he had learned may not have been the best fit for a given individual.
Furthermore, Jason views his athletes as people. His goals are to help his athletes achieve their goals, which means being in sync with them and having the ability to think beyond the training plan he has created. There were many times when I returned to Jason after multi-game tournaments or training camps completely fatigued or with a new injury. Jason always found a way to maximize our time together without putting me at risk for injury exacerbation or overtraining. Conversely, there were occasions when we had anticipated a lighter session, but were able to increase the intensity based on training history, sleep patterns, nutritional stability etc.
Lastly, and most importantly, Jason was an advocate for me as an athlete and as a person. Many of my repetitive injuries came from participating in multiple soccer programs concurrently (outside of Jason's purview). Jason was one of the few people in my life who consistently stressed the importance of rest. When I was personally resistant to the idea of taking days off, he presented the research supporting the importance of stress/rest cycles, the mounting evidence that suggested I was not responding to continuous physical stress and spoke to me about the need to maintain focus on my larger goals. Jason knew what was best for me as an athlete even when I did not, and took the time to help me maintain perspective as a young athlete.
Jason's excellence with injury management, vast scope of knowledge coupled with an inherent curiosity, and ability to see the bigger picture gave me many extra years of playing that I would not have had without him. In those years, I was able to achieve my goals of playing collegiately and professionally. I genuinely miss working with him, and I am forever grateful for him and for the work he put into me as a person and an athlete.
I've trained with Jason Agrella for just over ten years. I'm a single mom of a 3 year old who can now deadlift 235 lbs and counting. I say this because I'm not dedicating my life to working out. I do, however, place emphasis on efficiency and that is exactly what you get when working out with Agrella. I would love to tell you working out is fun! easy! the best thing ever! But it's not for me. That's not to say Agrella doesn't make it fun because he does. But fun for me is making love to a pint of ice cream after a burger and knowing I put the workouts in to give myself that treat now and then. Fun is continuing to snowboard well. Fun is no longer getting injured. Fun is being strong enough to keep up with my 3 year old. Fun is watching my body defy age and gravity.
Agrella will guide you through a workout safely and efficiently. He doesn't push you. He leads you via a wealth of industry experience and knowledge along with a balanced approach to hitting YOUR goals. He devotes himself to his craft in a way I never experienced with six previous personal trainers all claiming to be Silicon Valley's "best."
Before I met Agrella I spent thousands on chiropractors, massage therapists and various forms of other doctors and medical "professionals" each year. I justified I couldn't afford to spend money on a personal trainer or I needed the money for something else or I would workout on my own or, or, or...
Or, I was choosing poorly.
Every Thanksgiving for the past ten years I've thought of how grateful I am Agrella helped me out of pain and into a level of strength I am incredibly proud of. And then I eat pie. Lots of pie. Life is short. Go earn your pie.
I am obsessed... Jason individualized my plan in ways I never considered would make a difference but it HAS. I've worked with decent trainers in the past, but this is next level. These guys aren't wasting my time/money, they are actually doing an analysis to determine a tailored fit solution for my objectives.
My ex-boyfriend was a pro athlete, thats how I learned about sports trainers, methods and the benefits of cryo. These people are clearly aligned with encompassing the whole of a thing, and not just the a part.
Jason, Creed, Carl, and I all worked in the same clinic together years ago. Their work ethics and dedication to their craft is insane. They walk the walk, and do their homework. We worked together to get the same patients better.
As a chiropractor, I helped patients get out of pain, while they customized their personal training to help them move better with their specific injuries. They have a particular training to help patients with pain/ injuries to move safely during their training. They are very careful on not reinjuring the patients.
I've also trained with them personally, and they have many variations of exercises to help make the progression of exercises easier and effortless.
I would highly recommend to work with them. They are the real deal because they have dedicated their young whole lives to personal training, and nothing else. That's real and true passion for the love of their work.
Jason shard with me once that he was once an unfit kid. So, through that painful experience, out came man you see today! I'm so proud of these guys.
The staff is very astute and knowledgable. Both Jason and Carl were incredibly friendly, attentive, and thorough. I was especially impressed with their attention to detail. If you're looking for a custom fit plan these to achieve results - this is it.
Best trainers anywhere - experienced, educated, encouraging - excellent all around. I met Jason over ten years ago and he took my skinny body, with no core or muscles, and helped me gain mobility, strength, and function - all with a 40 degree curve from scoliosis in my lower back. We started really slow and safe and within no time at all, I started to see muscle tone - soon enough I could lift my suitcase into the overhead bin on a plane, carry two bags of groceries at once, make my bed without throwing out my back. If you have a back issue, see Jason - he gets it! And - he helps consult with nutrition, sleep, all of the elements that go into rebuilding your body. I completely changed how I eat, focusing on protein, and coupled with his work-outs - at 64 years old - I'm in better shape than ever.
I cannot speak highly enough of Creed, he is hands down the best personal trainer. He’s kept me fit (and sane) for over 5 years - Ironman training, pregnancy & postpartum, and I’m back running faster than before I had my baby. Also worth mentioning I’ve been injury free because of his thoughtful planning. He is the real deal, a true expert in his field. He’s a great guy that makes the training enjoyable.
I do personal training with Jason Agrella. I've been working with him for about nine years. Something Jason and I have in common: we love working out but are prone to injury. Jason has a passion for helping his clients achieve their fitness goals while greatly reducing their risk of injury. I refer to Jason as a magician - whatever my ache and pain, he knows how to eliminate or greatly reduce it. As someone who logs a lot of running mileage, I often have muscle tweaks. After I workout with Jason, my aches and pains are gone or at least are less severe. I feel strong when running the days after seeing Jason. The body feels put together and the runs feel effortless.
I highly recommend Jason and Calibrated Custom Fitness.
My 13-year-old son had an excellent experience working with Carl at Calibrated Custom Fitness. As a committed club baseball player (catcher and pitcher), my son wanted to "get stronger" so he could be a better player. At this age, the club team coaches were beginning to use weights during training and I became concerned when my son complained of low back and shoulder pain after practices. I sought out Carl and he did a detailed assessment of my son at the gym. We both appreciated the way he explained things to us, focused on core strength before diving into weights, and increasing my son's overall body awareness. I trusted Carl. He is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and tried in earnest to customize every movement to my son's unique strengths and weaknesses. He took videos of various movements and showed side by side comparisons with pro-athletes to help motivate him. He sent emails explaining things we could do at home. I was grateful for the way he was able to connect with my son and explain things on his level. My son progressed rapidly and I truly believe this was attributable to Carl's knowledge and training style but also his ability to motivate my son. After 10 sessions, his pains went away and he was able to incorporate fundamental techniques in his sessions with his team.
Calibrated Custom Fitness has my highest recommendation. I have been working with Carl for several years for chronic back and knee pain. He has done wonders for my mobility and I no longer deal with chronic pain. Carl is a good listener and has a wealth of information about health and fitness. He developed a fitness program that pushes me but also understands what I need and my current limits. I feel like I had a good workout every time I leave but also feel energized and in better spirits.
I've been working with Jason since 2018 and he's not only the best trainer I ever worked with, but one of the best human beings!
He's incredibly knowledgeable about the body (especially on strengthening it keeping injuries in mind - for me, an old back injury) and I love that he's always deepening his knowledge.
We worked on muscle toning, strength, flexibility, weight loss and injury prevention! In addition, doing cryo skin sessions after training enhanced results!!
Lastly, his flexibility for in person or zoom is so helpful if you have a busy schedule or travel for work!
I've been working with Carl on my golf fitness for about 12 sessions. His understanding of the body and how to make it move a golf club are awesome. His approach is take a step back to take a leap forward and it works. My driver speed is up to 115 max from 110 already. Also I'm finding I have fewer nagging injuries too! Very happy with Carl and the whole setup!
Best trainers anywhere. Jason took my depleted, under nourished, weak body and turned me into a functional, stronger person with a ton of mobility. I have less pain, more energy, and muscles for the first time in my life - and I'm over 60! These guys are great.
My wife and I have been working with Jason for years and we truly cannot say enough good things about him. He has everything you want in a trainer: professionalism; unparalleled expertise on all things health and wellness related; and a kind, friendly approach that will appeal to anyone. He knows just how hard to push you so you are always advancing, but not so much that you risk injuries, or become too intimidated to continue. He is open-minded, creative, and collaborative.
For people who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant, know that he helped train my wife throughout her pregnancy and afterwards. Without a doubt, he is the reason that my wife was able to follow her own birth plan-the doctor was skeptical that she would be able to deliver without a C-section given the size of our baby and because she had spent 2 days in labor before beginning to push. But Jason had helped prepare her-both her core and her stamina-and she was able to deliver our kid safely in under 2 hours. The doctor called her the 'best pusher' she's ever seen-and that is because of Jason.
In other words, he is perfect. Jason is also just a funny, smart, and interesting guy to be around-we have enjoyed not just working with him, but becoming his friend. We trust him with our life, and you will, too.
LOVE this place. I met Coach Jason in 2010; he taught me how to use kettlebells safely and effectively. Today I'm a certified kettlebell instructor and Strongwoman athlete and I still keep learning from Jason! He's very down-to-earth and his coaching instructions are always super clear. Plus he's great at helping folks rehab from injuries, even old, stubborn problems that seem unsolvable. The studio is inviting and spotlessly clean. Can't recommend highly enough!

Coach Jason at Calibrated Fitness has been my trainer for over five years. In that time, he has refocused my entire fitness routine, which was pretty random consisting of jumping into any class and using any lifting app I could find and he channeled my energy and my time into scheduled workouts. Four years after working with him, I earned my performance-based Russian kettlebell certification. I’m now working on my second level certification with him as head coach. He is personable and relatable. His detailed knowledge of body movement and mechanics is incredible….knowledge of even using your pinky fingers and gripping with your toes. Every part of your body is engaged and he knows how to isolate it and how to train it and how to maximize your potential for your activity. About every three months we do a session just on food and diet — making sure macros and calories are calibrated for optimal performance. There is no way I would perform as well without him! He even inspired me to get my personal training certificate which I joke has made me a better client as well as a great trainer!
Sixteen months ago, I received a gift that had me running to the gym; a walking tour of Wales. My career had me spending most of my time sitting in front of a computer screen and the prospect of hiking up to 8 miles a day had me very nervous. Shortly after that, I was also diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Carl Canning worked with me on both fronts. The training strengthened muscles I didn't even know were weak; I found walking easier, and when the trip came after 6 months with Carl, I was at the front of the pack. I lost weight, my blood sugar levels improved. I was nervous going in; I have a ruptured disk in my neck, and a problem knee. But he managed to help me improve my fitness on many levels with no pain. (He is NOT one of those 'no pain, no gain' kinda people). I'm an AARP member and probably fitter now than I've ever been in my life. I recommend Carl to anyone who wants to be healthier, more active, and for that matter, even just to look better. He's extremely knowledgable and regularly takes classes to grow his skills. I can't recommend him highly enough
Carl Canning is such an asset to this community. His knowledge of *precisely* what the body does when it's in pain means he knows exactly what to do to help get you out of pain. The exercises are straightforward and at this point (early on) very basic and meant to get the various muscles and nerves talking to each other. I'm very impressed and would highly recommend Carl's training services to anyone struggling with an injury or weight issue.
After having 5 children, the last two, twins, my body went into revolt! Not being a fan of exercise in the first place, my body never bounced back after each pregnancy and the extra weight just stayed. I had no energy, didn't sleep well and was depressed. It was time to do something. I signed up with a personal trainer at another gym. What kind of trainer makes a 46 yr old woman with a herniated L5 do burpees at her first appointment?! Mine did! LOL! A couple sessions later and it was clear this wasn't a good match for me. My chiropractor and acupuncturist agreed!
I had the best luck ever when I was introduced to Creed Black! I immediately knew this was going to be a better experience because after Creed asked many health/fitness questions and tested my flexibility, he was much more in tune with my limitations and started me with more reasonable exercises. Also knowing my "love" of exercise, Creed kept conversation going and before I knew it the hour was over! Plus, he wasn't put off by my whining about exercise! That was a little more than a year ago. I've lost 45 lbs, have more energy, sleep better and got my self-esteem back! My core is much stronger, stabilizing my lower back. I enjoy going to the gym now and have discovered my love of boxing and bench pressing!! Creed always switches my routine up to make sure I'm working on all my muscles and in different modalities. He's taught me numerous techniques to stretch my muscles and joints to improve my mobility. I'm always open to trying new things and Creed always seems to have an endless supply of new exercises making workouts fun. He is extremely knowledgeable in anatomy, nutrition and natural cures which is something I also know a lot about. Many of our discussions are on topics such as the benefits of turmeric, bee propolis or coconut oil making workouts more interesting.
I really never thought I'd enjoy exercise or going to a gym! Here I am though, three times a week! I actually go through withdrawals if I don't get my boxing in! I truly lucked out getting Creed as my personal trainer!
Ask for Jason Agrella. He is the best in the business and the results speak for themselves. I have been working with Jason for over two years now, and not only have I already surpassed the goals I set with him on the first day, but I am continuously receiving comments from other people about how my athletic performance has sky rocketed in so many other ways.
I was first recommended Jason by a teammate to help build up strength and prevent future injuries. Little did I know, that was only the beginning checkpoint in my journey with Jason to superior performance. Prior to working with Jason, I would repeatedly sit out of each season with tendon injuries, pulled muscles, small fractures, etc. often related to inflexibility and lack of strength. I have been 100% injury free since working with Jason for the past 24 months.
Jason's training is unique in that his professionalism comes from his personal experience and loads of training in a plethora of athletic settings and conferences. He is constantly bringing new exercises to our sessions and tweaking old ones as he practices them himself between our sessions.
My only regret is that I didn't come to Jason sooner. My strength has surpassed that of my peers, and I am never pushed off the ball during games. My sprint mechanics have changed drastically and have allowed me to pull myself ahead of defenders at the last moment to get the set up touch before a goal. My flexibility is better than I could ever have imagined. I feel extremely prepared for my next four years of Division 1 college sports thanks to Jason. In fact, my college coach, who recruited me two years ago in my sophomore year of high school, has commented numerous times about how much stronger and more agile I am since he last saw me play in high school. The only difference in my training? I finally went to work with Jason.
Since beginning my training with Jason over 5 years ago, both my mind and body have been completely transformed. I initially started training with Jason in 8th Grade, in preparation for my upcoming basketball season. At the time I was about 5'11" and 145-150lbs. Jason introduced me to kettlebell training, and along with it a new way to be powerful and explosive with my body. My vertical jump, agility, and strength, and conditioning all improved, and I stayed a step ahead of the competition.
As I progressed throughout high school my primary sport was football. Heading into Freshman year, my bench press max had moved from 75lbs to 135lbs, making me tied for strongest bencher on the team, and I was only a wide receiver. I made the introduction between my head football coaches and Jason, and soon was given permission to train completely independently from the normal school program (I'm glad I did). The combination of movement work, powerlifting, kettlebell training, resistance training, cardio work, and dietary adjustments that I underwent in my consistent weekly training with Jason continued to launch me farther and farther ahead of the competition. As a result of our training, by the age of 17, I was able to do a turkish getup (kettle bell movement) with a 48(+2) kg bell, equal to 110 pounds, a feat which most grown men need many years of training to accomplish, if they ever do. Heading into the Senior year football season, I was a lean 6'4" and 220lbs. The training had given me a supreme physical edge, especially at the wide receiver position, where no one could match up strength wise. Most importantly, Jason trained me with strategy and health as priority one in every situation, keeping me functional and healthy throughout the majority of all 4 years, and aiding in rapid recoveries from broken bones and other downtime off the field.
Now, after my first year of college, I'm 6'4" and 240lbs, and continue to smash through goals and hit new strength marks all the time. The thing that has been the biggest blessing about training with Jason throughout these years is the way he transforms you, and your entire mental approach to fitness and life in general. As I'm sure many would agree, you often start out training as a hobby or an event every other day, but soon it turns into a lifestyle.
When you experience this with Jason, you know that he is in your corner the whole time, and never feel intimidated or forced into anything. Jason's approach allows you to work together to achieve whatever your specific goals are, be it fat loss, conditioning, strength work, mass building, athletic training, etc... and instead of simply following commands, every session with Jason is educational, and you learn more about your body and new approaches to health and fitness than you ever thought you would.
Carl Canning has been my coach only since February of 2014 and I am very impressed by his knowledge and dedication to his job. He is conscientious and very passionate about helping me, even though I am in my 60's. He is very calm, patient and very attentive to every detail of the body. I appreciate the fact that he doesn't push me beyond my limits and makes sure I don't hurt myself while making sure I am being challenged. He cares tremendously about his career and doesn't stop learning to make sure he can help his clients, the best way he can.
Jason is the best in the business. Simply put, he provides his clients the best opportunity to excel. Since training with Jason over the past three and a half years my trailing goals have changed multiple times, each goal becoming more challenging than the previous one. However, I continue to have the utmost confidence that I will not only meet my personal goals, but blow way past them. This is because Jason consistently provides the perfect program for me in addition to his excellent coaching. To give a couple of examples, in 2011, my goal was to greatly improve my conditioning, and in eight months, Jason helped me lose 50 pounds in addition to improving my strength, mobility, and balance. A couple years later, I needed to bulk up significantly, and Jason, once again, gave me the perfect program. I was able to gain 30 pounds of muscle in less than six months. While consistently reaching my short term goals is a great accomplishment alone, I believe the greatest aspect of training with Jason is being in complete control of your training. Jason has given me great exposure to a variety of different training programs and nutrition plans. At any time in my life, now or in the future, I know exactly what I need to do to achieve whatever goals I may have. Having this feeling is very hard to put into words, but those who truly feel this way can tell you, it is life changing. Lastly and most significantly, while I am in the best shape in my life after training with Jason for over three years, I truly believe I will continue to get better every single day and be "in the best shape of my life" for many many years to come, even beyond the years where many believe one is past his peak. I strongly recommend training with Jason or any of his colleagues.
